Overview
CallValet ("the App") is a call blocking and screening application for Android. This Privacy Policy explains how the App collects, uses, and protects your information.
Information We Collect
Phone Call Data
- Call Log Access: The App reads your call log to identify and screen incoming calls. This data is used solely to determine whether to allow, block, or forward incoming calls based on your configured rules.
- Phone State: The App monitors phone state to detect incoming calls and provide real-time call screening.
Contact Information
- Contacts Access (Optional): When you choose to import contacts or enable contacts sync, the App reads your contact names and phone numbers. This data is used to populate your Allow List so that calls from known contacts ring through normally.
User-Created Data
- Block List and Allow List: Phone numbers and labels you manually add to your block or allow lists.
- Call Blocking Log: A local record of calls that were blocked, allowed, or marked as unknown by the App.
- App Settings: Your preferences such as blocking mode, forwarding settings, notification preferences, and sync options.
How We Use Your Information
All data collected by CallValet is used exclusively for the following purposes:
- Call Screening: Determining whether incoming calls should be allowed, blocked, or forwarded based on your configured block list, allow list, and settings.
- Call Forwarding: If you enable call forwarding, the App uses your configured forwarding number to redirect blocked calls.
- Notifications: Displaying notifications about blocked calls when you have this feature enabled.
- Contacts Sync: Keeping your allow list synchronized with your device contacts when this optional feature is enabled.
Data Storage
All data is stored locally on your device. CallValet does not transmit any of your data to external servers, cloud services, or third parties.
- Data is stored in a local SQLite database and Android DataStore preferences on your device.
- Uninstalling the App will permanently delete all locally stored data.
Data Sharing
CallValet does not share your data with any third parties. Specifically:
- No data is sent to remote servers
- No data is sold or shared with advertisers
- No analytics or tracking services are used
- No data is transmitted over the internet
Call Forwarding Disclosure
When the "Forward Blocked Calls" feature is enabled:
- The App may initiate an outgoing call to your configured forwarding number when a blocked call is detected.
- This uses your device's standard phone dialer and is subject to your carrier's calling plan and charges.
- The forwarding number is stored locally on your device and is not shared with any third party.

Data Retention
- All data remains on your device for as long as the App is installed.
- You can delete your call log, block list, and allow list entries at any time from within the App.
- Uninstalling the App removes all stored data permanently.
Children's Privacy
CallValet is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Security
All data is stored locally on your device and protected by your device's built-in security features (screen lock, encryption). No data is transmitted over any network.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically.
